Of Fate & Chaos Wedding Films

First things first.

You put a lot of trust in the people you hire to capture your wedding day. It’s my privilege to bear witness to this special day and my responsibility to document your sincere moments, capturing the beauty and the truth of this once in a lifetime day. I want to create films that capture the spirit of your day, remind you why you fell in love, why you’re here on this day with vows in your hand and forever in your heart.

My goal is to help you take moments for yourselves, close your eyes and be present in love so that we have the space to tell this greater story of today and tomorrow and all the days after.

To serve you in this way, we have to go a bit beyond the typical client/vendor relationship. I want to get to know you both as people and as a couple. So get ready to tell me all your favorite things, about your pets and your favorite foods, what makes your spirit feel alive, what makes your heart keep beating. I promise it won’t be painful and on the day of your wedding, we’ll be old friends.

My wedding films aren’t long videos with interviews and recorded speeches. These films are meant to be an ode to your day, the length of a song - about 3-4 minutes. There are so many in between moments that can’t quite be captured in still photography and I’d love to help you find this missing piece in your memory.

FAQ & Answers
_____________

Q: Where are you based? Do you travel? +

A: I live in Norfolk, VA and work the most around Richmond. I do love to travel though and am willing to go (almost) anywhere!

Q: Can we meet you before we book? +

A. I'd love to meet you! If you'd like to set up a time to chat and are available to come to Hampton Roads where I live, we can meet up for coffee or a favorite adult beverage. Otherwise, we can totally meet on Skype or Facetime!

Q: What is required to reserve our wedding date and book Emma as our videographer? +

A. When you feel ready to book, I'll send you a contract to view and sign online. The signed contract plus a non-refundable retainer fee of 50% of your total invoice are required to secure your date.

Q: What are the payment options? +

A. I accept online checks as well as paper ones. Your invoice will give you the option to send a digital check for any/all of your payments, including the retainer. It's super easy, but some people prefer paper checks in the mail and that's okay too.

The standard payment plan that most of my clients use is 2 separate payments, including the retainer:

  1. 50% retainer, due at contract signing
  2. final remaining balance due 30 days before your wedding

Don't worry - I always send reminders to keep you on track.

Q: How long before we get to see our video? +

A: 8-12 weeks after your wedding, your video will be ready.

Q: Can we add coverage time if we're having so much fun on the day that we don't want to miss anything? +

A: Absolutely! Sometimes things run a little long and staying a few extra minutes is necessary to capture a grand exit - and I won't charge you for that. However, if we stay over 20 minutes, I will give you the option to add on time and you will be invoiced for the additional time the day after the wedding. Additional time may be added at $500/hr.

—————

If you’ve made it all the way to the bottom (and you must have if you’re reading this), then I just want to tell you how humbled and grateful I am that you took the time to review all of this information.

Hopefully I’ve answered some questions that you might have had and if there are others that I can answer for you (list of animal rankings, what kind of bear is best, etc.), I’d be happy to answer them.

Thank you so much again and let’s talk soon!
