At the end of the day, you just want to remember all the joy and all the love.

BEFORE WE GET ALL CARRIED AWAY, THERE ARE JUST A FEW MORE THINGS I WANT YOU TO KNOW...

As excited that I am and that you're here - I need you to know that I can't be just your photographer. I love getting to know each and every one of my clients for who they are as people and who they are as a couple.  Everyone has different personalities and love languages - not every relationship is going to look loud and silly or super romantic and introspective.  Whatever way that YOU are in love, is what I want to capture and that takes a little bit of rawness and vulnerability.  So if you feel like we could hang out and let our hearts run a bit wild with the wind in our hair - we will be fast friends.

I don't focus on showing you a bunch of details and family formal shots, because those pretty and posed photos aren't going to be the ones that you come back to again and again when things are good and when things feel less than good.  The ones that you turn to when you want to remember that feeling you had, in those moments when it was just the two of you before everything else happened since.  I want you to never forget the way you looked at one another, the way you laughed and cried with your family and friends. How much love there is in this world, for you. Often, wedding days don't go quite to plan and we'll capture that too - the chaos, the love, and all the things that were meant to be and made the day even better than you ever hoped it could be.

Someday when you set your wedding album on the coffee table for your children to look through, they'll see the beautiful, crazy, wonderful foundation on which their family has been built and you get to relive this day again and again, as you pass down your heartfelt legacy.

FAQ

Do you travel for weddings + elopements?
I do!  I am often roaming around Virginia and North Carolina, but I love traveling to new places and keep my perspective fresh.

Is an engagement session included in your packages?  No, although I do offer an engagement session as an a la carte add-on at a significantly reduced price when booked with your wedding.  Since many of my weddings are out of the area, logistically I can't offer an engagement session for every wedding booked.

Do we get our digital files?  Of course!  You will receive an online gallery to make it easy to order prints and share with family and friends.  With most of the wedding coverage offered you will also receive a custom wood USB with all of your full size images.  All images are edited and high resolution quality.

Do we get printing rights?  Definitely.  Although you won't have access to a professional lab on your own, I do include recommendations for consumer labs that you have access to.

Do you offer prints and albums?  Yes.  I feel so strongly that every couple should have a wedding album.  There's something so wonderful about your children flipping through a tangible book that they can hold on their laps and touch the day their family officially began.

What equipment do you use?  I photograph using Canon professional cameras and lenses.

Do you have back up equipment and insurance?  Yeppers.  And also yes.

How do you back up our files after the wedding?  My cameras write the digital files onto two cards all day.  At the end of your wedding day, I immediately transfer all of your images from my cards onto a hard drive.  Afterwards, I copy those images to a duplicate hard drive and upload to cloud storage. Yay for all the copies!

How many images will we receive?  For an engagement session I deliver between 75-100 images.  For a typical 8 hour wedding day, I deliver between 400-650 images, depending on the events of the day.  I never limit the number of photos that I give.  If it was a meaningful moment, I would never hold out on you just because your gallery was getting too large.

How quickly will we get our photos back?  Turnaround time for your wedding during peak season is 6-8 weeks.  I know that sounds like an eternity, but I send 10-12 sneak peek preview images from your wedding day in the wee hours of the morning while I'm backing up all of your files.  So, the first morning that you wake up married, you'll get the first glimpse at what your day looked like!

Can we see a full wedding gallery?  Of course.  I think it's so important to see a full day from any photographer that you are considering.

Do your packages include a second photographer?  No.  I am 100% comfortable photographing weddings alone.  If you'd like to discuss whether or not having a second photographer is right for your day, mention it and we can go over the timeline of your day and find a solution that is right for you.

Do you take photos of details and family portraits?  Yes.  Although details and posed formal portraits aren't showcased on the website, I believe in telling the full story of your wedding day.  You'll see those images in the full galleries after you've inquired.

Will you shoot LGBTQ, Catholic, Indian, JW, LDS, etc. weddings?  So much yes.  I have not had the pleasure to photograph a ceremony from every faith, but it's certainly a goal.  If you don't see something on my website that looks like the wedding you have in mind, don't let that stop you from reaching out to me.

How can we book you for our wedding or elopement?  First, fill out the contact form which you can find HERE.  We will set up a time to meet or chat over the phone/skype to discuss your expectations and needs for your day.  Also - I just really love to get to know my couples so that I can serve them the best way possible.  To reserve your date, I require a retainer of $1,000 and a signed digital contract.  The remaining balance will be due 30 days before your wedding.  Easy!
