Kim invited me into her home to capture her and her daughter spending the morning together - the time when Amelia is happiest. A few days before we were supposed to have our session, Ly surprised them by coming home early from deployment. As a fellow military spouse, I understand the toll deployments take as well as the overwhelming joy that follows homecomings. Your other half, your husband, your children's father - is finally home and your family is whole again.
I arrived before Amelia woke, taking in their cozy home. When Amelia woke, she didn't disappoint. She's definitely the happiest kid I've ever seen in the morning. Hair a mess, she rolled around the bed, smiling at Ly and nuzzling into Kim. She seemed too little to toddle so quickly around the house on her tiny toes, stopping at things that caught her attention. Things out the front door, things in drawers - basically all the best stuff. She had already gotten used to Ly being home again, and things were back the way they should be.
They spent our time together reading, playing, gardening, and just being whole again. Kim fed me breakfast and sent me home with freshly picked string beans and lavender.
Press play, and meet my three new sweet friends.
